Our Promise.
SentinelFX sits in the middle of thousands of Discord servers and FiveM communities. That position only works if operators, players, and members can trust what we do with it. This page is the commitment we make back — in plain English, with no marketing fluff.
01Free, forever
SentinelFX is — and will remain — free of charge for every community that uses it. The Discord bot, the FiveM FXServer resource, the dashboard, the network ban API, and the appeals system are all offered at no cost.
- No premium tier. No "unlock this for $X/month." No feature behind a paywall.
- No ads, no sponsored bans, no pay-to-remove-from-network anti-patterns.
- Running costs are covered by the operators and volunteer staff. If that ever changes, we'll say so here before anything else.
02Privacy by default
We collect the minimum data required to enforce bans across a network. That's it. The full technical detail lives in the Privacy Policy, but the principle is simple:
- We do not read your chat. The bot reacts to events (joins, raids, reports) — it does not log, mine, or sell message content.
- We do not track players across games. The FiveM resource transmits identifiers required for ban matching (license, Steam, Discord, HWID, etc.) and event metadata — nothing else.
- We do not sell data to anyone. Not to advertisers, not to analytics firms, not to "threat intelligence" resellers.
- We honour deletion requests. If you leave, your operator data goes with you (ban entries stay — that's what the network is for).
03Fair enforcement
A ban network is only useful if the bans in it are defensible. Every network-wide ban on SentinelFX has to clear the same bar:
- Evidence-backed. Reports without evidence (screenshots, logs, server-side IDs) are rejected at submission.
- Vote-gated or signal-gated — never single-signal. A network ban requires either a quorum of staff approval or a combination of machine-verified evidence and corroborating signals strong enough to clear published thresholds. No single person, and no single AI recommendation, can push a ban to the whole network on its own.
- Identifier-keyed, not name-keyed. We match on the identifiers a bad actor actually carries between accounts. Innocent users sharing a display name are not swept up.
- Operator-final. On FiveM, operators choose their ban mode (
off/review/auto). SentinelFX recommends, you decide. - AI is transparent and optional. An AI layer helps adjudicate genuinely ambiguous reports, but its role is fully disclosed (Privacy §7), its reasoning is logged to the audit trail, it is bound by the same evidence rules as the deterministic engine, and it can be disabled from the dashboard at any time. Appeals are always decided by a human.
04Radical transparency
You should not have to take our word for anything. The things we run, we publish:
- Live status. Component health is public at sentinelfx.net/status. When something is degraded, we say so.
- Public conduct. Our Terms, Privacy Policy, and server rules are all documented. Nothing governs your community that we haven't written down.
- Auditable trail. Every staff action on a ban or appeal is logged with the actor, reason, and timestamp. Operators can see the chain on their own entries.
- No dark patterns. We do not hide cancel flows, pre-tick consent boxes, or bury policies in 6-point type.
05Real appeals
Being in a ban network cuts both ways. If you end up banned unfairly, the appeals process is designed to actually work — not to wear you down.
- One active appeal per ban, submitted by the banned user. No "appeals take 30 days minimum" stall tactics.
- Reviewed by staff who did not issue the original ban. The person who banned you is not the person who decides whether the ban stays.
- Decisions come with a reason. "Denied" alone is not a decision. You will be told what failed and, where we can, what new evidence could change the outcome.
- Operators can override locally. Even if SentinelFX upholds a network ban, an individual Discord server or FXServer owner can still choose to allow the user on their own property.
06Security first
SentinelFX holds identifier data for a lot of people. We treat that as a liability — something to protect, not something to expand.
- Principle of least privilege. Staff only see what their role requires. Identifier-level data is gated behind audit logging.
- Signed webhooks. The FiveM resource and Discord bot verify payload signatures — the ban network doesn't accept unsigned traffic.
- Responsible disclosure welcomed. If you find a vulnerability, reach us via the channels listed in our security.txt. We will not legal-threat a good-faith researcher.
- Fail-open on the edge. If SentinelFX is down, your FXServer does not brick — the resource is designed to fail open and let the server run.
07Community-run
SentinelFX is not a company. It's operated by the volunteer team listed on /team, and shaped by the operators using it day-to-day.
- You can talk to the people who build it. Every staff member is reachable in our Discord support server.
- Operators get a voice. Major policy changes (what counts as a network-bannable offence, how evidence is handled, etc.) are discussed with active operators before they ship.
- No hidden investors, no acquirers waiting in the wings. If that ever changes, it changes in public first.
08What we will never do
Some commitments are easier to state as hard lines. These do not have exceptions.
- We will never sell, rent, or trade user data — identifiers, reports, chat, or otherwise.
- We will never charge for removal from the ban network. Appeals are free.
- We will never issue a network ban without evidence and staff review.
- We will never log or mine chat content for reasons unrelated to an active report.
- We will never ship malware, spyware, or hidden telemetry in the Discord bot or FiveM resource. Every identifier the resource sends is documented in the Privacy Policy.
- We will never use an AI to make a final, human-unreviewable decision that affects someone's access. Every appeal is reviewed by a human. Every AI-influenced action is logged, disclosed, and reversible.
- We will never train third-party AI models on your data, your reports, or your players. Our AI sub-processor is contractually bound not to retain or train on what we send them.
- We will never lock existing features behind a paywall that were previously free.
- We will never retaliate against good-faith critics, researchers, or operators who disagree with us publicly.
∞Hold us to it
If you think we've fallen short of anything on this page, tell us. The fastest route is our Discord support server. For formal concerns, write to legal@sentinelfx.net. For privacy and data requests, see the Privacy Policy contact section. For security vulnerabilities, use the responsible-disclosure channel in our security.txt.
This page is versioned alongside our Terms and Privacy Policy. When the promise changes, the change — and the reason for it — will be recorded here.
